1000 Books Before Kindergarten Certificate (Pre K)

Year round

Early reading is a powerful way to boost your child's brain power. Encourage a steady habit of reading before kids hit Kindergarten! Come to the library to get program materials. Track your reading with your child, and get a reward for every 100 books read! Once your child hits their 1000 Book milestone, they'll have their name added to the 1000 Book Wall of Fame and receive a free book.

Registration can be completed in person at the library. 

Library Story time (Ages 0-5 and Caregivers)

Wednesdays from 10:30 to 11:15. Runs September through June
No program will be held during last two weeks of December or during school spring break.
Sign up for 6 week sessions. Maximum of 12 children per session.

Lego Blockbusters Club (All Ages)

Thursdays after school. from October through June
After school from 3:30 - 5:00 p.m.

No registration needed. Drop in

Art for Kids (Ages 6+)

This program runs on the third Wednesday of each month from October through June
Limited to 8 per age group. 

Pre-registration required. No drop ins

Art for FUN (Ages 10+)

This program runs on the second Wednesday of each month from October through June
Limited to 8 participants May be dropped to six depending on project

Pre-registration required. No drop ins

Learn 2 Drive (Ages 13+) 

Sessions vary - Check calendar for dates
Date and time: same time on both days

This two day classroom style workshop is designed to help young teens pass their learner's permit test. Give your teens a head start on vehicle safety and the rules of the road! 

Registration required with a fee of $20.00. Repeat attendance is welcome - no fee.

CAMP NOT-A-BOOK

First Wednesday of each month from October though June 3:30 until 5:00 p.m.
Open to everyone between ages 13-17
Earn badges and learn skills. Or just hang out.

Pre-registration is required to partake in those skills that require advance preparation.

Summer Reading Program (All Ages)

Summer Reading Program every year.
Did you know reading over the summer brings confidence to your child's reading skills?
Encourage your child to read for a few minutes everyday.

Register for free at the library at the end of June or any time during the summer and you can earn prizes just for reading! 

Libraries are More than Books: In Collaboration with Sexsmith Wellness (All Ages) 

A free drop in outdoor program for all ages - Wednesdays from 1:00-3:00 pm. and Thursdays from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

2023 summer program is ready to go as of July 1. Check our calendar for events.

No registration necessary.

Story Time in the Park (0-6 years old) 

Drop in stories and songs on Wednesday mornings from 10:30-11:30 pm starting early July.

Rock Painting Drop in (All Ages) 

Join us on Thursdays from 3:00-7:00 pm on the Library patio to paint rocks! Starts in July.

Thousand Page Draws  for older kids, teens and adults

Yep, EVERYONE can read this summer! Choose your challenge. Using our qualifying bookmarks, add your pages up and place your entry in the box!  Two categories: youth and adult. Enter as many times as you can read those pages!  

2021's winner had read 19,000 pages!    

Summer Wrap Up (All Ages) 

Third Wednesday in August from 1:00-3:00 pm with games, stories, songs and more to celebrate the summer.
